Easter Juniors Volleyball Camp

Further to the success of the February Half Term Volleyball Camp for Junior Players, LBB Youth Support Service have organised another 3 day camp during the first week of the Easter holidays, run by Volleyball England Community Development Coach Sean Poole.

The camp will run between 1 and 3 pm on Tuesday 3rd, Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th April 2012 at Woodhouse College, North Finchley, N12 9EY.

The camp is primarily aimed at beginners but LBB will also be using it to select the LBB Teams for the London Youth Games.

To register, contact the Futureversity website (see details below). For those who registered for the previous camp, the process should be a lot easier (I believe that you will only have to tick the box next to the course details ?) !!

February Half-Term Volleyball Camp for Juniors

Sean is running a 3-day Volleyball Camp and Young Leaders/Young Referees combined course in Barnet over the February Half Term.

There will be 3 volleyball sessions – Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th Feb from 1.00-3.30pm. These are open to anyone from age 11 to 19, any level of experience but more geared towards beginners.

On Friday 17th February there will be a combined Young Leaders & Young Referees (Officials) Volleyball Course from 10.00am – 4.00pm. These courses are certificated and can be used in some ways to supplement various curricular courses (eg GCSE PE).

All sessions will take place at Woodhouse Sixth Form College, Woodhouse Road, London N12 9EY.

If you’re interested, please follow these instructions to enrol prior to the session dates:

Log on to www.futureversity.org;
Under “Find a course”, type in “volleyball” in the “Search for a course” box and click on the “search” button;
Choose the Sessions/course you wish to participate in !

Enrolment is open from 24th January – 5th February and is on a ‘first come-first served’ basis.

There is a consent form and participants will need to provide a £5 cheque as a deposit which will be returned at the beginning of the session.

VK Barnet U16 Girls into last 8 in National Cup

VK Barnet U16 girls team won their 2nd round tournament to qualify for the last 8 in the National Cup competition.

They’ll go on to play at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering on Sunday 26th Feb, and if they finish in top 2 they go to the Cup Final in May.

Enfield have kindly offered us the use of their full-sized court at the Aspire Centre, (Little Bury Street, off Church Street, N9 9HY) on Monday 12th December from 8 – 10pm. As both men’s teams have a match on the Wed 14th this would be an ideal opportunity to get in some hard practice. The cost is a £5 donation to their club (usually £8.50). Please contact Tracey to let her know if you intend to go along, and if you need a lift or can drive others from QE.

VK Barnet is running free junior training sessions for young people who want to try the exciting sport of Volleyball.

Training sessions will take place on Saturday afternoons in October, from 2pm to 4pm.

Training sessions for the 2011-12 season begin this coming Wednesday evening at 8pm. It would be very much appreciated if you could bring along completed membership forms – please see the email from Diego, below:

The club requires your financial support. You might be aware that hiring the sport hall used for training and matches and paying for volleyball equipments is essential to run the club. Although everyone involved in the club committee works on voluntary basis to organise everything and although the club tries to constantly apply for funding from governing bodies, individuals and organisations, maintaining the club requires also a financial commitment from its members.
