Next Wednesday, 19th December, we shall be holding the Club Mixed Christmas Tournament during the regular training session starting at 8 o’clock. All are welcome !
Teams will be chosen on the night so please get there early (say, 7.50 pm) to help make selection easier (and to help set the nets up).
Theme for the evening is “Xmas Headwear (or something else Festive)” so bring your best Christmas hat/wig/socks/outfit to wear for the tournament !
Good news on Juniors – the 2nd ‘Give It A Go’ session at Southgate School last night (see details below) drew in 28 participants !
There was room for all as the coach deployed his ‘long net’ system which gives 4 badminton size courts so different standards of play were accommodated on different courts.
The PL4Sport sessions on Tuesday afternoons (see below for details) continue to grow with 38 currently registered participants with an average of 18 participants each week. Again, the ‘long net’ system is deployed.
If you know any juniors who would like to try Volleyball, please let them know about these sessions.

VK Barnet are running Adult (15+) beginners training sessions on Saturday afternoons between 3 & 4 pm from now until Xmas at Queen Elizabeth Girls School Sports Centre, High Street, Barnet. If the sessions prove popular enough they will continue after Xmas.
Sessions are run by VE qualified coaches and are open to anyone wishing to try the sport for the first time or those who may be thinking about taking up playing again after a break ! Cost is £4 per session.

Petra will be running a Men’s 2nd team training session this Wednesday evening so any players interested in playing for this team are advised to attend. Men’s 1st team players will train with them, as per last week, but Petra will be concentrating on putting a 2nd team together.
Sean will take the Ladies session on the 2nd court.
VK Barnet (Junior Section) are running a series of FREE Junior ‘Give It A Go’ Volleyball sessions on Mondays at Southgate School, Sussex Way, Cockfosters – near the Chickenshed roundabout – between 6 and 7pm.
These sessions are for children in school years 7-13 and will run every Monday (except during half term) up until Christmas. All standards are welcome to attend so bring a friend along and introduce them to our great sport !!
The sessions are coached by Sean (VK Club Coach) and Eric (VE Level 2 coach). If you hear of any one enquiring about junior sessions, please mention this session to them and ask them to e:mail Sean at [s.poole@volleyballengland.org] for further details.
Depending upon the success of these sessions, we are looking to set up a proper Junior section of the club.
